The Activity Selector is one of several tools designed to promote choice and independence for individuals with learning difficulties. Designed as a productive and proactive tool to enable individuals at all levels to make independant choices in their everyday lives. Very young children and children who have not begun to read or who have severe communication difficulties, will be able to communicate their choices through these tools.

The Activity Selector is designed to enable individuals of all levels of understanding to clearly express choice and independence through the use of symbols.

Included within this pack are 180 symbols of activity choices, 3 choices display pages, 1 weekly visual planner, 2 daily visual planners, additional days of the week symbols and a printed activity planner with choices display page on the reverse for Care Home documentation purposes.

To ensure the highest quality service is provided, a questionnaire pack has been devised in a simple and fun format for individuals to use with their carer, parent or teacher. These questions relate to the activity selector and the activities they are participating in. These questionnaires can be used for individuals using the activity selector to allow those working with them to monitor their preferences, likes and dislikes. The answers given can then be recorded on the record sheet provided for documentation purposes
